Parallaxi magazine, through the action “Thessaloniki Otherwise”, continues for the second year Made in Thessaloniki 2 – Intervening in public space throughout May. One of the interventions of the action includes installations in five empty shop windows.
In the time of crisis, where more and more commercial shops are ceasing to operate, we turn our aversion to empty spaces into creativity, deciding to conquer them creatively. According to Aristotle, nature abhors empty spaces and always finds a way to fill them.
The project “Horror Vacui” is a confirmation of this idea: every void finds a way to be occupied.
With the assistance of the Commercial Association of Thessaloniki and the Institute of Trade Development, creators from the city intervene in five closed shops, transforming their windows into dynamic art installations. The visual interventions in the windows will last until 15 May.
